Michael Barone Sees a Republican House in 2006

With the House of Representatives up for election in November of this year, some have worried that the Republicans (the only pro-life major party in the United States) may lose control of the House. I do not share those worries. At this link, you will find the analysis of Michael Barone, whose comments are always worth the time to read.

Why do you place your pro-life beliefs above all else? The Republican party may be generally more pro-life--but they're also responsible for an unjust war in Iraq killing thousands of innocent men, women and children. Fully-formed and completely born I might add! And what about the Republican party's pro-death penalty position? It seems that if you value ALL human life--including those of us who have already been born--the Democratic party is the more humane choice.

Response to above comment:

1. Abortion targets the innocent; the death penalty targets the guilty. That is a radical difference. The two issues cannot be put on the same level.

2. The Iraq War is a just war in my view because it overthrew a genocidal dictator, as the current, on-going trial of Saddam Hussein is documenting.
